Reduce your Transportation Footprint

Reduce your Transportation Footprint

It's no shock to anyone that biking to work is great for your health, but did you know it's also great for our environment? Biking (or walking) to work, to the gym, or even to a friend's house can reduce your daily Carbon Emission by up to 67%! Collectively, cars account for 1/5th of all Carbon Emissions in the United States emitting around 24 pounds of Carbon Dioxide per gallon of gas.

Even switching to public transportation such as city buses can

drastically help our environment by conserving energy! Public Transportation Reduces Greenhouse Gases by reducing the number of people driving single-occupancy vehicles. Carpooling is another great alternative! Check in with your friends, family, and neighbors. Chances are, reducing their gasoline costs by 40-50% will sound awfully tempting. Trading off turns driving will also reduce wear-and-tear on your individual cars!

There are so many environmentally conscious commuting alternatives at your fingertips! Which one are you going to try this week?
